Interactive promotion of the sustainable initiatives in the port of Marseille Fos

challenge launched by

Why this challenge?

Why

Environmental issues are essential and structuring for the future and especially for the exceptional ecosystem in which we evolve in Marseille. Environmental excellence is a clear commitment of many of the leading companies of the Port of Marseille-Fos and many initiatives are implemented with a real impact on air quality or the preservation of biodiversity. However, it is clear that there is a huge communication deficit with the general public that has a very degraded image of the environmental commitment of the Port of Marseille Fos and therefore of its players/actors.

Description

The challenge is to propose one or more innovative digital solutions for the public, especially children. The proposals must be the fruit of a real innovation and integrate the pedagogical, playful and interactive dimensions.

The challenge will be to identify all the initiatives developed by a maximum of players in the Port in order to offer a comprehensive, attractive and regularly and easily updated picture of the “green” commitments of the companies concerned.

These solutions must be able to be implemented easily in various areas/media: corporate headquarters, fairs, websites, shopping center...

Example of situation

Les Terrasses du Port recycles 75% of their waste and has a real policy of reducing and sorting the waste generated by the 190 shops and restaurants in the shopping center. The Port of Marseilles restored 500 ha of its area to pasture and allowed two young operators to set up a farm for breeding horses and bulls of Camargue breed. In 2016, Engie created the first marine geothermal power plant, Thassalia, to supply hot and cold 500,000 m² of buildings while reducing by 70% the greenhouse gases generated…

There are many initiatives, the environmental benefits of which are proven, but there is no way to identify and enhance them in the eyes of the public.
